GoTo Webinar
Why GoTo Webinar
GoTo Webinar is a platform for hosting live and pre-recorded webinars with branded registration pages, automated email workflows and built-in reporting. It scales from 250 up to 3,000 attendees and integrates with CRM and marketing tools such as HubSpot and Salesforce. Ideal for corporate training teams and marketing teams running lead-generation events or virtual conferences.
What it does
GoTo Webinar is a platform for running webinars, online training and virtual events. You set up the event, build a branded registration page, send invitations and reminders, and run the session with polls, Q&A and breakout rooms. Afterwards you get attendance and engagement reports.
It also supports practice mode before you go live, payment processing for paid events, and Simulive, which plays pre-recorded content with live interaction on top.
Why you would need it
Webinars are one of the more reliable ways to turn a topic into leads, but the manual work is heavy. Someone has to collect registrations, send reminders, run the session and then work out who attended and who is worth a call.
You feel the pain when a webinar happens and the follow-up is slow. A platform with registration, reminders and CRM sync makes sure that attendee data reaches sales while the topic is still fresh.
Where it fits
GoTo Webinar sits between your marketing and your sales stack. Registration data flows into your CRM and marketing automation. The vendor lists HubSpot, Salesforce Pardot and Marketo. It replaces a patchwork of a meeting tool, an email tool and a spreadsheet.
If you already use a meeting product for everything else, compare Zoom Webinars first. For a modern, browser-based alternative look at Livestorm, BigMarker or Demio.
What stands out
- Branded registration pages that capture lead data and sync it to your CRM.
- Automated invitations, confirmations and reminders.
- Simulive events, which combine pre-recorded content with live polls and Q&A.
- Payment processing for paid events and certifications.
My take
This is a solid choice for a training or marketing team that wants one place to run events and wants the registration data in its CRM. Its place in the GoTo family also helps if you already use their products.
What I would watch is the buying process. The vendor's pricing page does not show a clear self-serve price, so expect a conversation with sales. The interface can also feel heavier than newer browser-only tools. If you want to sign up in five minutes and run an event in the afternoon, check the alternatives first.
Verdict
Pick GoTo Webinar when you run regular, larger events and need CRM sync, payments or certification features, and a sales conversation is fine. Skip it when you want fast self-serve sign-up, visible pricing and a lightweight tool for the occasional webinar.
Notes
Your note
Before you choose
Pricing is not clear up front
GoTo Webinar has been restructured into new plan names, and public prices are not clearly listed. Ask for a quote against your expected attendee numbers and sessions per year, and ask about trial terms, before you plan a budget.

Weight of the interface
The product aims at larger, repeated events. For a founder running one webinar a quarter, the set-up can feel like more than needed. Run a trial event with a colleague before you invite customers.
Fit with your existing stack
It works best if you already use other GoTo products, or if your CRM is one of the listed integrations. Check that your marketing automation tool is supported, and what data is synced and when.
Alternatives to compare
Livestorm, Zoom Webinars, BigMarker, Demio and eWebinar all cover webinars. Compare them on attendee limits, automation of recurring sessions and how cleanly they push data to your CRM.
