Post scheduling & queues
The tool lets you prepare social posts in advance and publish them automatically at chosen times or from a queue of recurring slots.

What it is
Post scheduling means writing posts ahead of time and setting when each goes out, so nobody has to be online at that moment. A queue goes a step further: you add posts to a list and the tool publishes them in the next free slot of a weekly timetable you set once. Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, Metricool, Publer, SocialPilot and Sprout Social are listed as having it.
Why it matters
Regular posting keeps an audience engaged, and scheduling lets one person plan a week or a month of content in a single sitting. It matters when you post several times a week or serve audiences in other time zones. If you post rarely, or only react to news as it happens, it adds little.
What to check
- Check which networks can be published to directly, and which only send a reminder to post by hand.
- Ask how many posts can be scheduled at once on each plan.
- Test the calendar view, and see whether it is easy to move a post to another day.
- Ask whether first comments, images, video and links are published with the post, or need to be added later.
