Post approval workflow
Let a manager or client review, approve or reject drafts before they can be published.

What it is
An approval workflow puts a check between writing and publishing. A team member prepares a post, and someone else, such as a manager, a client or a legal reviewer, has to approve it before it can be scheduled. Reviewers can usually comment or request changes. Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social and SocialPilot are among the tools that list it.
Why it matters
A single mistaken post can cause real damage, and it is easier to prevent than to repair. Approval matters for agencies working for clients, for regulated industries and for teams with several contributors. A single person managing their own accounts does not need it, and it only adds steps.
What to check
- Can you set different approval steps for different people or accounts.
- Can reviewers approve without needing a full paid seat.
- Does it keep a record of who approved what and when.
- Can the approver see exactly how the post will look on each network.
