Simulcast to social channels
On this pageWhat it is
What it is
Simulcasting sends your live session to other platforms while it is running in the event tool. The audience on YouTube, LinkedIn or Facebook sees the same broadcast as the registered attendees. For example, you could run a webinar for registered guests and stream it to your LinkedIn page for anyone who happens to follow you. BigMarker, Demio, Livestorm and Zoom Webinars are examples of tools listed with this feature.
Why it matters
Registration pages reach only people who sign up. Streaming to a social channel puts the session in front of followers who may never have heard of the event, and can widen your reach. You need it when you have an audience on those channels and want to grow it. Note that viewers on social platforms often are not captured as registered contacts, so you may lose their details.
What to check
- Which channels can you stream to, and can you stream to several at once?
- Do the questions and comments from social viewers reach you in the tool?
- Is the stream set up by connecting an account, or do you need to copy stream keys?
- Does the tool still capture contact details for the social audience, or only for registered attendees?
