Paid ticketing

You can charge for registration or sell tickets directly in the tool, without a separate payment or ticketing service.

What it is

Paid ticketing means the event tool itself takes payment. Registrants choose a ticket, pay by card and receive a confirmation, all as part of signing up. Some tools also support several ticket types, such as standard and VIP, or discount codes. For example, you could charge for a paid masterclass and have the money collected without a separate checkout page. BigMarker, GoTo Webinar and Zoom Webinars are examples of tools listed with this feature.

Why it matters

If you charge for events, each extra tool between the visitor and the payment page is a place where people drop out. Built-in ticketing also keeps payments and attendee data together. You need it for paid workshops, trainings and conferences. If all your events are free, you will not use it.

What to check

  • Which payment methods and currencies can attendees use?
  • Can you create several ticket types, discount codes and early-bird deadlines?
  • How are refunds, invoices and sales tax or VAT handled?
  • When and how do you receive the money, and are there fees from the tool or the payment provider?
