One-off meeting links

The host can create a single-use or custom-availability link for one meeting without setting up a permanent event type.

What it is

A one-off meeting link is a booking link made for a single occasion. You can choose the times you want to offer, set it to expire after one booking, and send it to one person. You do not need to create a lasting meeting type that stays on your booking page. Cal.com, Calendly and SavvyCal are examples of tools that offer it.

Why it matters

Not every meeting fits your standard setup. A special call with an important client may need extra time, a different length or a few unusual slots, and you would not want that option visible to everyone. A one-off link also stops a single invitation being reused or forwarded by mistake. It is handy for sales, recruiting and partner calls. If all your meetings follow the same pattern, a permanent link is enough.

What to check

  • Check whether the link really expires after one booking, or stays active until someone removes it.
  • Ask whether you can set your own dates and times for it without changing your normal availability.
  • Find out whether you can add questions or a meeting location for just that link.
  • Test how quickly you can create one, since a clumsy process will mean it never gets used.
