Onboarding & training
On this pageWhat it is
What it is
Employee onboarding features organise the first weeks of a new hire. They typically include checklists, assigned tasks, document collection, training content and progress tracking. For example, a new starter receives a checklist covering account setup, policies to read and a first-week training course, and the manager sees what is done. Process Street and Trainual list this feature.
Why it matters
A patchy start means slow ramp-up, repeated questions and things forgotten, such as access or contracts. A repeatable process makes every hire's start consistent and reduces your own involvement. It pays off as soon as you hire more than once or twice a year. If you hire rarely, a simple document may be enough.
What to check
- Can you build a template and reuse it for every role?
- Can tasks be assigned to different people, such as IT or finance, with due dates?
- Can you see who has completed what, and get alerted when something stalls?
- Can you attach policies and collect signatures or acknowledgements?
