Native ecommerce (Shopify) integration
On this pageWhat it is
What it is
A native ecommerce integration links the support tool to your online shop, most often Shopify. When a customer writes in, the agent sees their order history, delivery status and items next to the conversation, and can often refund, cancel or edit an order without opening another system. Tools such as Gorgias, Zendesk, Intercom and Help Scout offer Shopify connections, with different levels of depth.
Why it matters
Shop support is full of questions about orders. If agents must switch between tabs to look up each one, replies are slower and mistakes creep in. With the order data in view, answers are faster and common actions take a click. It matters most for shops with steady order volume. A business that sells services or has no online shop does not need it.
What to check
- Which actions can an agent take from the support screen, or can they only view data.
- Does the integration cover your platform, or only Shopify.
- How quickly does order data update after a change in the shop.
- Can automated replies use order data, for example to give a delivery update.
