How to automate WooCommerce

API and webhooks

WooCommerce documents a REST API for orders, products, coupons, customers and shipping zones, and a Store API with public endpoints for cart, checkout and product features. Check the webhook settings in your store for events you can push to other tools.

Automation idea: when an order is paid, send it to your accounting tool and add the customer to your email tool.

MCP server

WooCommerce has an official MCP integration through the WordPress MCP Adapter. It is in developer preview and you enable it with the mcp_integration feature flag. It exposes store operations as tools with built-in authentication and permissions.

Automation idea: try it on a test store, and ask an assistant to list products that are low on stock.

Native integrations

Many email and affiliate tools connect to WooCommerce. Check the integration list of the tool you want before you choose, and test it with a real order.
