Planhat

Brings customer data, usage and health scores together so B2B teams can onboard, retain and grow accounts.

Why Planhat

Planhat is a customer platform for B2B companies that builds a model of each customer from CRM data, product usage and captured interactions such as emails and tickets. It scores account health from that model to support onboarding, retention and expansion. It suits customer success, sales and professional services teams that want one connected view of the customer instead of data spread across systems.

Best for
Customer success, sales and professional services teams at B2B companies that want one customer model built from CRM, product usage and support data, and are ready to discuss pricing with sales.

What it does

Planhat is a customer platform for B2B commercial teams. It builds a model of each customer from CRM data, product usage and time series data, and it captures interactions such as emails, transcripts and support tickets. It scores account health from that model, and a built-in agent called Pi works on customer success tasks alongside your team.

You can deploy it as a customer success platform, as a CRM, as a professional services automation tool, or as a mix of the three.

Why you would need it

The pain starts when customer information is spread over a CRM, a support tool, a billing system and your own product data. Nobody has the full picture of an account. The customer success manager hears about a cancellation after the usage dropped weeks earlier.

Planhat's pitch is to pull those sources into one place and score health from them. If you manage onboarding, renewals and expansion for many accounts, that gives you an early warning and a shared view.

Where it fits

Planhat sits above the systems you already run. It syncs with the major CRMs and pulls in usage and support data, rather than replacing them. It can also act as the CRM or PSA itself if you want fewer tools.

It feeds your customer success playbooks, your renewal forecasts and your sales team's view of account health. It replaces the spreadsheet health score and the manual account review.

What stands out

  • A living customer model. It combines CRM data, time series usage data, SOPs and external telemetry.
  • Health scoring you can adapt. Analytics together with human and AI input decide whether a customer is thriving or failing.
  • Automatic capture. Transcripts, emails and tickets are gathered without manual logging.
  • Developer tools. The vendor documents a REST API, an MCP server, automations with triggers and flows, and data import and export to a data warehouse.

My take

Planhat is aimed at B2B enterprises, and it shows. The site talks about forward-deployed teams, an AI deployment programme and process automation, which means the vendor expects to help you roll it out. That is useful if you have a large base of accounts and the budget. It is a lot for a team with fifty customers and one account manager.

Pricing is the first hurdle, since it is given on request through a demo. I would also ask early which deployment you are buying, because a customer success platform, a CRM and a PSA are different projects.

Verdict

Pick Planhat when you run customer success, sales and delivery for many B2B accounts and want one customer model with health scoring on top of your data. Skip it if you want a self-serve tool with public pricing, or if a simple health score in your CRM would do.

Before you choose

Pricing comes through a sales conversation

Planhat's pricing page offers enquiry buttons for its CRM, customer success and PSA packages, plus add-ons. Prices are not public, and no free plan or trial is listed. Budget time for a demo before you can compare cost.

The scope depends on how you deploy it

Planhat can be a customer success layer, a CRM, a PSA or all three. That flexibility makes scoping harder. Decide which problem you are solving first, or the project will grow.

It needs good data to be useful

A health score is only as good as the usage, CRM and support data that feeds it. If your product does not emit clean usage data, expect to spend time on that before the scoring is worth trusting.

Alternatives to compare

Customer success platforms to compare include Gainsight, Vitally, Totango, ChurnZero and Custify. If you only need a CRM, look at HubSpot or Salesforce.
