Dedicated customer relationship management platform for sales teams managing leads, deals and pipelines.

Why Nutshell

Nutshell is a customer relationship management system designed for sales teams to manage leads, deals and customer relationships. The platform helps teams track prospects, manage pipelines and coordinate sales activities in one central system. It serves sales organisations that need dedicated CRM tools for managing their sales processes and customer information.

Best for
Small and mid-sized B2B sales teams that want a CRM with email, quotes and light marketing automation in one tool, and do not have an admin to run it.

What it does

Nutshell is a CRM for sales teams. It holds contacts and companies with custom fields, shows deals on a drag-and-drop pipeline and syncs two-way with Gmail and Outlook email and calendar. Around that core sit calls and meetings that are transcribed and logged by AI, a chatbot and forms, quotes, invoices and contracts, email marketing, SMS and landing pages. Nutshell IQ identifies website visitors for prospecting.

Why you would need it

The pain is a pipeline that lives in a spreadsheet and in people's heads. Follow-ups slip, nobody knows which deals are stuck, and logging activity is a chore that gets skipped.

A CRM fixes that only if the team uses it. Nutshell is built to be easy to start with. The email sync and call logging reduce the manual entry that makes salespeople drop a CRM.

Where it fits

It sits at the centre of the sales process. Email, calendar, web forms and chat feed it. Deals, quotes and reports come out. For small teams it can also replace a separate email marketing tool, a quoting tool and a basic landing page tool.

It is a different weight from HubSpot and Salesforce, and closer to Pipedrive, Close and Freshsales.

What stands out

  • Pipelines, email sync, reporting and quotes in one product, with free live support on every plan.
  • AI call and meeting notes that log automatically, plus an AI chatbot for lead capture.
  • No seat minimums or maximums, and a 14-day trial without a card.
  • A public API on all plans, so you can connect your own systems.

My take

I'd pick Nutshell for a small B2B team that wants a pipeline they will keep using, with quotes and email marketing included. The built-in extras mean fewer subscriptions to stitch together.

I would hesitate at the high end. If you want deep custom objects, a big automation setup or a developer-grade data hub, a heavier CRM will serve you better. I would also compare against Pipedrive or HubSpot before committing, because the middle of the CRM market is crowded and the deciding factor is usually fit with how you sell.

Verdict

Pick Nutshell if you are a small or mid-sized B2B sales team that wants an easy CRM with marketing and quoting bundled in. Skip it if you need complex automation, custom objects or an enterprise data model.

Before you choose

Per seat, five tiers

Nutshell is priced per user, with five tiers from Foundation to Enterprise, and annual billing is cheaper. The higher tiers add more pipelines, admin features, more customisation and extra AI features. Enterprise adds SSO, SQL and scheduled phone support. Check which tier holds the pipelines and reports you need, then price it for your whole sales team.

Simple by design

The simplicity that makes it quick to set up also sets a ceiling. Teams that need layered automation or many custom objects will hit edges sooner than in a larger platform. Compare with HubSpot or Attio if your data model is complex.

Marketing tools are an add-on layer

Email marketing, SMS and landing pages come with Nutshell, but they are lighter than dedicated tools such as Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign. Treat them as good enough for a small team, and test them in the trial.

AI features sit on higher tiers

The vendor says the Business tier brings additional AI features. If call transcription and AI assistants are why you are buying, confirm which tier includes them before you sign.
