Team collaboration

What it is
Team collaboration covers the ways several people use one account. It includes invitations, separate logins, roles that decide who can edit or publish, shared folders, comments and approval steps. A freelancer can draft, a manager can approve, and an owner can see everything. Most tools in this category list it, including Anyword, Buffer, Hootsuite, Jasper, Later and Sprout Social, though the depth differs.
Why it matters
Sharing one login is a security risk and leaves no record of who did what. Roles and approvals protect the brand from mistakes and make it safe to bring in freelancers or agencies. It matters as soon as more than one person produces content, and most when work is reviewed by clients. A solo user can skip it.
What to check
- Ask how many users are included, and what each extra user adds to the cost.
- Check which roles exist, and whether you can require approval before publishing.
- Test the review process with a colleague, including comments and changes.
- Find out whether outside people, such as clients, can be given limited access.
