Subscriber preference centre

What it is
A preference centre is a page, hosted by the email tool, where subscribers manage what they receive. They can pick topics, change how often you email them or pause messages, rather than facing a single unsubscribe button. For example, someone who finds weekly emails too much could switch to monthly and stay on your list. Brevo, Campaign Monitor, Kit, Loops and Mailchimp are examples of tools listed with this feature.
Why it matters
Every full unsubscribe is a contact lost for good. Letting people adjust their preferences keeps more of them and sends them only what they want, which can reduce spam complaints. You need it when you send several kinds of email, such as product news, offers and education. If you send one type of email, an ordinary unsubscribe link may be enough.
What to check
- Can subscribers choose topics, frequency or both?
- Do their choices update tags or segments in your list, so your campaigns respect them?
- Can you change the design and wording of the page to match your brand?
- Is a complete unsubscribe still easy to find, as the rules on email consent require?
