Audit management

Plan, run and record audits, including the checks, findings and follow-up actions.

What it is

Audit management covers the work of checking that something is done as it should be, whether a process, a quality standard or a set of financial controls. A tool with this feature lets you schedule audits, record what was checked, log findings and assign follow-up actions with due dates. Compound Growth OS lists it as a feature.

Why it matters

Without a system, audits end up in spreadsheets and email, findings are forgotten and it is hard to show an inspector or client that issues were fixed. A central record shows what was found, who owns it and whether it is closed. It matters if you work under a standard such as ISO or must show compliance to customers. A business with no formal audit needs may not need it.

What to check

  • Can you build audit checklists and reuse them for later audits.
  • Are findings linked to actions with owners and deadlines.
  • Can you produce a report that an auditor or client would accept.
  • Is there a history that shows changes over time.
