AI call summaries & transcripts
The tool records or imports calls and uses AI to produce a written summary and a searchable transcript of what was said.

What it is
AI call summaries turn a recorded conversation into text. The transcript is a word-for-word record, and the summary picks out the main points, decisions and next steps. After a sales call you might open a few lines covering the buyer's concerns and what was agreed instead of replaying the audio. Examples include Gong, Fireflies.ai, Fathom and Avoma.
Why it matters
Salespeople forget details and notes are written in a rush, if at all. Summaries give managers a way to understand calls without listening to them and keep a record when someone leaves the team. You need this when several people speak to customers, or when handing deals between colleagues. If you take a few calls a week yourself, your own notes may be enough.
What to check
- Ask which languages and accents the transcription handles and test it on a real call.
- Check whether summaries can be sent to your CRM automatically.
- Test whether the transcript is searchable across all calls.
- Find out how recording consent is handled and where recordings are stored.
