Power/auto dialer
The tool can dial a list of contacts automatically, one after another, so the caller moves straight from one conversation to the next.

What it is
A power dialer works through a list of phone numbers for you. When one call ends, the next number is dialled automatically instead of the salesperson looking it up and typing it in. Some versions also skip unanswered calls and log the result. Aircall, Freshcaller and RingCentral are examples of tools with this.
Why it matters
Manual dialling wastes a lot of a sales day on small tasks between calls, so a dialer lets people spend more of their time actually speaking to prospects. You need it when your team makes high volumes of outbound calls, for example when following up on new leads. If you make a few carefully researched calls a day, the benefit is small.
What to check
- Ask whether the dialer calls one number at a time or several at once and which suits your team.
- Check how call results and notes are saved back to your CRM.
- Test how voicemails, busy numbers and no-answers are handled.
- Find out what rules apply to automated outbound calling in the countries you call.
