How to automate Facebook

Native integrations

Facebook Pages connect to Meta's ad tools and to the Messenger platform, and a large group of social media tools publish to Pages through Meta's APIs. Check that the tool you use supports Pages and not only personal profiles.

Automation idea: send new Page messages into your shared inbox with an automatic first reply outside office hours.

API and webhooks

The Pages API lets apps publish and schedule content, create and moderate comments, read insights and manage Page settings. Webhooks give real-time updates for events such as new comments, likes and messages. Messaging runs through the separate Messenger platform.

Automation idea: when someone comments on a post with a question, alert the right person in Slack so a human answers within the hour.

No-code automation

Social scheduling tools such as Buffer and Hootsuite publish to Facebook Pages without code. ManyChat is a common choice for automating message flows.

Automation idea: publish one piece of content to your Page and other channels from a single content calendar.
