The verdict
For a freelancer or a very small team writing short pieces, I'd pick Rytr. The free plan lets you test it on real work, and templates save you from writing prompts. For a marketing team where several people write for one brand and tone keeps drifting, I'd pick Jasper.
Be honest about the gap. Rytr has no brand rulebook for a team and no approval flow, so it stops working once several writers share it. Jasper costs more per person and only pays off with enough output to justify enforcing the rules. A solo founder who writes occasionally may be fine with ChatGPT or Claude and a few saved prompts. Whichever you try, keep a human pass on the final text.
