Carrd vs Wix

Carrd logovsWix logo
Carrd builds one-page sites quickly and cheaply. Wix builds full business sites and small shops with bookings and payments. Wix suits most small teams needing more than a page.

The verdict

For a small team that needs a working website or a simple shop live quickly, pick Wix. You can build the site, connect payments and publish from one login. You can keep editing it yourself afterwards.

For a single page to test an offer or collect sign-ups, pick Carrd. It is lighter and quicker, and there is little to learn.

I'd not choose either for a design-led marketing site that will be tested and tuned constantly. For that, look at Webflow or Framer.

Both have one thing in common that is worth planning for: leaving later means rebuilding. With Carrd that is cheap because the site is one page. With Wix it is a bigger job, so treat the choice as a long-term one and keep your copy and images in a form you can reuse.

Who each is for

Carrd logo

Choose Carrd if…

Pick Carrd when the job is one page. Landing pages, event pages, waiting lists and link-in-bio sites all fit. Setup is short and a first page can be live in an afternoon.

It suits founders, freelancers and small teams who want a clean page quickly. The free plan covers up to three sites, and paid plans add a custom domain, forms and widgets.

It also works as a test bench beside a main site, with a page per campaign.

Do not pick it for a company site with several pages, a shop or bookings. Each Carrd site is one page, and its email and payment connections are a fixed list. If your needs grow, you will move to a bigger tool.

Wix logo

Choose Wix if…

Pick Wix when you need a site that takes bookings or sells things, and you have no developer, no time and no wish to manage servers. It suits small businesses, freelancers and solo founders.

Ecommerce, payments, bookings and a blog are built in, and the free plan lets you try the editor before you spend anything. An official MCP server and a REST API are there for people who later want to extend the site.

Check three things first. Many useful tools sit on higher plans. Prices vary by country, so check the price at checkout where you live. And control over code and page speed is limited, so test your pages if technical SEO matters to you.
