Built-in CMS / blog

What it is
A built-in content management system, or CMS, lets you write and publish pages and blog posts from inside the same product that hosts your site. You type into an editor, add images, set a title and publish, with no code and no second system to connect. For example, a consultancy can publish a weekly article from the same dashboard where it manages the rest of the website. BigCommerce, Framer, Shopify, Squarespace, Webflow, Wix and WordPress are tools in the library that list this feature.
Why it matters
Regular articles bring in search traffic and give prospects a reason to trust you. If publishing is awkward, the blog is the first thing a busy team stops doing. A built-in CMS removes the technical hurdle and keeps content, design and hosting together. You need it when content marketing is part of your plan or when non-technical people must update the site. You can skip it for a one-page site that rarely changes.
What to check
- Whether the editor supports scheduling, drafts, categories, tags and several authors.
- Whether you control page titles, descriptions and web addresses for search engines.
- Whether you can export your posts if you later move to another platform.
- How the blog looks and performs on mobile phones in a trial site.
