How to automate Chargebee

Native integrations

Chargebee lists connections to HubSpot, Salesforce, QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Avalara and Zapier, plus more than 40 payment gateways. Connect your CRM first, so a closed deal creates the customer and subscription without retyping, and your accounting package second, so invoices land in the ledger.

API and webhooks

Chargebee has a full API documented at apidocs.chargebee.com. Use it to create subscriptions from your product, record usage events and read invoices. An idea: when a customer reaches a usage limit in your app, write the extra usage to Chargebee so the next invoice is right.

MCP server

Chargebee has an official MCP server, hosted on your own Chargebee subdomain with browser OAuth. It connects live billing data to AI tools and exposes a data lookup agent and a knowledge base agent. Chargebee says write actions are coming, so today I would use it to ask questions, such as which accounts will run out of credits this week.

No-code automation

Chargebee has a Zapier integration. A simple flow: when a payment fails, post a message in Slack with the customer name and create a task for the account owner. Another: when a subscription is cancelled, update the deal in your CRM.
