Relevance AI
Why Relevance AI
Relevance AI is a platform for building and deploying AI agents and multi-agent workflows that automate business tasks such as research, meeting prep, follow-ups and proposal generation. It is designed for enterprise teams across sales, customer success, marketing, human resources and operations that need governance controls and role-based access for multiple agents.
What it does
Relevance AI is a platform for building AI agents. You give an agent a prompt, tools, knowledge and a trigger, and it carries out a task such as researching a lead, preparing a meeting or drafting a follow-up. Several agents can be combined into a workforce on a visual canvas, and an agent can hand work to subagents.
Tools are the actions agents take: API calls, model prompts or custom code. Knowledge gives them your documents and data. You can run agents in a chat interface, on a schedule or from a trigger, and there is a marketplace of agents built by others. It also has phone agents that speak and listen during a call.
Why you would need it
Most repeatable work in sales and operations follows a pattern: take an input, look something up, decide, write and update a system. That is work for an agent, but wiring one together from model APIs, scripts and glue code is slow and fragile.
You feel the pain when the same research or follow-up task eats someone's week, and a general chatbot cannot do it because it has no access to your tools and no way to run unattended. A platform gives you the tool access, triggers, memory and logs in one place.
Where it fits
Relevance AI sits above your CRM, inbox, chat and data tools. Agents read from them and write back. It can be started from more than a thousand integrations, from a schedule, from a webhook or from an API call.
It replaces one-off scripts and manual research routines. It sits next to general automation tools such as Zapier, Make and n8n, and next to other agent builders such as Lindy.
What stands out
- Several trigger types: integrations, schedules, webhooks, API calls and tools.
- Workforces and subagents, so a task can be split between specialist agents.
- Bring-your-own API keys and custom tools, so you are not limited to built-in integrations.
- Smart escalations by email and Slack, task history, an activity centre and SOC 2 and GDPR compliance.
My take
The product suits people who want to build, not just buy a finished agent. If you can describe a process clearly, you can turn it into an agent and watch it run.
What I would watch is cost and control. Usage is metered in Actions and vendor credits, so a busy agent can use up its allowance. Test with a small, well-defined task and check the logs before you let an agent write to your CRM. A good agent needs a tight prompt and a person who reviews the output.
Verdict
Pick Relevance AI if you have a clear repeatable task, some appetite to build and a need for triggers and integrations. Skip it if you want a finished product that does one thing out of the box, or if you do not have anyone to own and review what the agents do.

Before you choose
The free plan is gone
Relevance AI has retired its free plan for new and existing accounts. Plans start at Pro for solo operators, then Team and Enterprise. Check the current plan page before you plan a pilot.

Usage is metered
Plans include a number of Actions and vendor credits, and there are limits on build users and end users. A chatty agent or a large batch can use them fast. Estimate how many actions one task takes before you scale up, and check how unused credits are handled on your plan.
Agents need ownership
An agent that runs unattended can make a mistake at scale. Set approvals for sensitive steps, use the escalation options and review the task history regularly. Someone needs to own each agent.
Compare it with other builders
Lindy, n8n and Zapier Agents approach the same job from different starting points. n8n and Zapier are workflow tools first. Relevance AI is agent first. Build the same small task in two of them and compare the effort and the result.
