How to automate Plausible Analytics

Native integrations

Plausible offers a WordPress plugin, a Google Tag Manager template and an npm package for installing the script. It also connects to Google Search Console so search queries appear in the dashboard, and it can send email and Slack reports on a schedule.

Automation idea: send the weekly traffic and conversion report to the marketing channel in Slack, so the team sees results without logging in.

API and webhooks

The Stats API is a read-only API that returns metrics as JSON, and it is part of the Business plan. The Events API lets you record pageviews and custom events from your own backend. The Sites API for creating and managing sites is available on Enterprise.

Automation idea: record a custom event from your server when someone pays, so revenue shows up next to the campaign that brought them.

Built-in automation

Plausible has scheduled email and Slack reports, goals that you can set without code, and a Data Studio connector for blending its data with other sources. Enterprise plans can get scheduled raw event exports to object storage.

Automation idea: connect the Data Studio connector to Looker Studio and combine traffic with ad spend in one marketing dashboard.
