How to automate Google Search Console

API and webhooks

The Search Console API is public and has four parts: search analytics, sitemaps, sites and URL inspection. You can query clicks and impressions by date, query, page, country or device, submit sitemaps, and inspect the index status of a page. There are no webhooks, so you pull the data on a schedule.

One idea: a weekly script that pulls the top queries and pages into a sheet, and flags pages that lost most of their clicks week on week.

Native integrations

Search Console is linked to Google Analytics, so you can read search data next to behaviour data. One idea: use the API to pull queries into a sheet, then join them with landing page conversions from Analytics in a single report.

MCP server

There is no official Search Console MCP server yet. Google's official Workspace MCP servers do not include it. If you want an AI assistant to look at your search data, the API is the route for now.
