How to automate Firebase
Native integrations
Cloud Functions is the glue. Functions can trigger on Firestore and Realtime Database changes, Authentication events, Cloud Storage uploads, Pub/Sub messages, Remote Config updates and Crashlytics alerts. One concrete idea: when a new user signs up, a function creates the contact in HubSpot and posts a note in Slack.
API and webhooks
Firebase documents REST references for its services, and Cloud Functions can expose an HTTP endpoint that works as a webhook receiver. One concrete idea: point a Stripe webhook at an HTTP function that marks the customer as paid in Firestore, so the app switches on the right features without a manual step.
MCP server
Firebase ships an official MCP server in firebase-tools. You start it with `npx -y firebase-tools@latest mcp` and add it to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor or another MCP client. One concrete idea: ask your coding assistant to set up Authentication, write the security rules and deploy to Hosting from one conversation, then review the result before you ship.
