Unlimited visitors

What it is
A visitor limit is a ceiling on how much traffic a landing page tool will serve in a month, counted as unique visitors, page views or conversions. Tools without such a ceiling on their standard paid plans are described as having unlimited visitors. If a campaign goes well or a post goes viral, the pages keep working and the bill does not change because of the extra traffic. Leadpages is an example of a tool listed with this feature.
Why it matters
Many page builders measure usage by visitors and charge more, or block extra traffic, once you pass a set number. For a business with steady, modest traffic this rarely matters. For one that runs seasonal promotions, launches or paid campaigns, a single busy week can push an account over the line at the worst possible moment.
It matters most when your traffic is unpredictable or when you build pages for several clients. If your traffic is small and stable, a plan with a cap you will never reach is equally good, and the cap is not worth paying a premium to avoid.
Read what unlimited means in the plan terms, because it often applies to some plans and some usage types only.
What to check
- What exactly is unlimited: visitors, views, conversions, pages, or only some of them.
- Is there a fair use policy that lets the vendor limit or move you to another plan.
- Does the same apply to every paid plan, or only the higher ones.
- What happens to the pages if your traffic suddenly rises well above normal.
