Scheduled report delivery
Reports or dashboards can be sent automatically by email or Slack on a schedule.

What it is
Scheduled report delivery means reports or dashboards are sent automatically by email or Slack at times you choose. For example, a summary of last week's results lands in the team's inbox every Monday morning. Databox, Looker Studio and Tableau are among the tools that offer this.
Why it matters
Reports that nobody opens do not change decisions. Scheduled delivery brings the numbers to people who will not log in, such as a managing director or a client, and removes the weekly job of exporting and sending a file. It matters when the same report goes to the same people on a rhythm. For a one-off analysis it makes no difference.
What to check
- Ask which formats are sent, such as a link, a PDF, an image or a data file.
- Check whether you can send to people who do not have an account.
- Test whether recipients see current data and whether you can filter a report per recipient.
- Find out how many schedules the plan allows.
