Databox

Pulls metrics from 130+ tools into custom dashboards and reports to consolidate your KPI visibility.

Why Databox

It connects to data sources across marketing, sales and operations to display KPIs in real-time dashboards. Intended for teams consolidating data from multiple tools into one view, it supports shared dashboards and client-facing reports. It focuses on metric dashboards rather than product analytics or self-hosted deployments.

Best for
Marketing, sales and operations teams, and agencies, that pull KPIs from many tools into shared dashboards and client reports instead of compiling them by hand each week.

What it does

Databox is a business dashboard and reporting platform. It connects to more than 130 tools, including spreadsheets, databases and APIs, and shows your chosen numbers in dashboards and scheduled reports. You can build and forecast metrics, set goals and OKRs, and get alerts on important changes.

It also has an AI Analyst you can ask questions in plain language, agents and automations for recurring analysis, and a semantic layer that fixes one meaning for each metric.

Why you would need it

Numbers live in too many places. Pipeline in the CRM, traffic in analytics, spend in the ad platforms, revenue in billing. Someone spends Friday afternoon copying them into a slide, and everyone argues about which figure is right.

A dashboard that pulls them together removes that chore and gives the team one view. You feel the pain when a weekly report takes hours, or a client asks for numbers you have to dig up.

Where it fits

Databox sits on top of your data sources, such as HubSpot, Google Analytics and Meta Ads. It feeds team dashboards and client reports. It is a reporting layer, not a data warehouse. It replaces manual spreadsheet reports and sits beside, or instead of, Looker Studio.

What stands out

  • Pre-built integrations for many marketing, sales and finance tools, plus API access for custom data.
  • Dashboards you can share with clients, with permissions.
  • Goals and forecasts next to the metrics.
  • An official MCP server, so AI tools can use your trusted numbers.
  • SOC 2 certification and permission-aware AI.

Who gets the most from it

Agencies that report to several clients get the clearest return, because a client dashboard replaces a slide deck assembled by hand. In-house marketing and sales teams that use three or more platforms get a shared view of pipeline, traffic and spend. A founder can use one board as a business overview next to the weekly numbers.

My take

I used Databox at my previous agency, and it centralised our marketing numbers well. The real-time alerts were useful for spotting shifts in key figures, and charts made it easy to explain performance to stakeholders.

The setup was harder than I expected. Some integrations needed more technical know-how than I had planned for. For a small team with simple reporting, a free tool like Looker Studio may be enough.

Verdict

Pick Databox when you use several tools and report to a team or to clients every week. Skip it when you use one or two tools whose native dashboards already answer your questions.

Before you choose

Setup takes effort

Each data source needs authenticating and the right metrics selected. Templates help, and some integrations need technical knowledge. Block time for the first build.

Free plan is small

The free plan is limited to one user and three data sources, with an AI credit allowance that resets each period. Real use usually needs a paid plan, and paid plans differ by users, sources and features. There is also a 14-day trial with no card.

Not for deep analysis

Databox is for current performance and recurring reports. It is not a warehouse and is limited for deep historical or statistical analysis. For that, look at Looker Studio with a warehouse.

Alternatives to compare

Native dashboards in Google Analytics or your CRM are enough for one or two tools. Mixpanel and Amplitude suit product analytics.
