Competitor ad lookup

Look up the ads a named competitor or advertiser is currently running, without owning that account.

What it is

A competitor ad library lets you search for an advertiser and see the ads it is running right now, without any access to its account. The "Google Ads Transparency Center" is an example. You type in a company name or website and see the ad creatives, often filtered by country and time. It is a look at what is visible to the public, not a view of a competitor's results.

Why it matters

Seeing what rivals advertise helps you understand how they position their offer, which messages they repeat, how often they change their ads and which regions they target. It is a quick way to spot a new campaign or a change of angle, and it costs nothing in many cases. You need it when you plan a search campaign in a crowded market or want to check a rival's claims. You do not need it if you have no real competitors in paid search or if your budget is too small to react to them.

The limits are important. Such libraries usually show the ad itself, but not the keywords, bids, budget, clicks or sales behind it. A long-running ad is a hint that something works, not proof.

What to check

  • Does it show only ads running now, or also past ads and when they started?
  • Which ad formats are covered, such as search, display or video, and which countries?
  • Can you search by advertiser name and by website address?
  • Can you save, export or monitor a rival's ads, or do you need to check by hand?
