Automated warmup network

What it is
An automated warmup network is a pool of real mailboxes run by a warmup service. Your mailbox sends a small number of emails to them each day, and they open the messages, reply and move any that landed in spam back to the inbox. The volume rises slowly over several weeks. Mailbox providers see normal, wanted conversation and learn to trust the address. Folderly, Lemwarm, MailReach, Warmup Inbox and Warmy.io are examples of tools that offer it.
Why it matters
A new email address or domain has no reputation, and sending a large batch of cold emails from it right away often sends messages to spam. Warmup builds a track record before real campaigns begin. It also helps recover a mailbox whose reputation has dropped.
You need it when you start sending from a new domain or mailbox, particularly for cold outreach or high volumes. If you send occasional one-to-one emails from an established address, you probably do not.
It is not a cure for poor practice. Bad lists, misleading subject lines and missing authentication will still hurt you, and some providers frown on artificial engagement, so treat it as one part of a sound sending routine.
What to check
- How large is the network, and does it use real mailboxes or shared pools.
- Can you control the speed of the ramp-up and the daily volume.
- Does it work with your mail provider, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
- Can you see reports on how many messages landed in the inbox and how many in spam.
