If you sell by the hour and cannot say which clients and projects make money, pick Clockify. If your team already works in Notion and wants agents and meeting notes next to its pages and databases, pick Notion AI.
The two do not compete, so the decision is about your biggest gap. For a small service business, I would put time tracking first, because under-billing costs real money. Notion AI only makes sense on top of an existing Notion workspace, and it now comes with the Business and Enterprise plans rather than as a separate add-on. If you only want a meeting recorder, a dedicated tool may be simpler.

Pick Notion AI if Notion is already where your docs, projects and decisions live. Agents can read the real pages and databases, and meeting notes land next to the project without a bot joining the call.
The real price is moving the whole workspace to the Business plan, so count every seat first. Heavier agent use is metered in credits. Data handling differs by plan, so check it if you handle sensitive client data. Skip it if your team does not use Notion for the rest of its work, because you would pay for a workspace upgrade for one feature.
Choose Notion AI if…
Pick Clockify if you bill by the hour and want to start free. It suits freelancers, small agencies and consultants, and the free plan covers unlimited tracking, timesheets and reports. Paid tiers add invoicing, approvals, budgets and forecasting.
It also records scheduling, time off, attendance and expenses, and it works with accounting tools. It does not replace task tracking. The habit is the hard part. The report is only as good as the entries, so decide on one logging method and who checks the timesheets. Skip it if you work on fixed prices and never look at hours.
