Cal.com vs Chili Piper

Cal.com logovsChili Piper logo
Cal.com is open-source scheduling you can embed, route and self-host, while Chili Piper routes inbound leads to the right rep and books the meeting from the form. Small teams usually need Cal.com.

The verdict

For a small B2B team, pick Cal.com. It has a free plan, the routing forms cover most simple qualification, and you can embed it and shape it to look like part of your product.

Pick Chili Piper when inbound demand is a real revenue source, several reps share the leads and your CRM is the system of record. The routing is the point, and the faster booking follows from it.

If one booking link would do, Chili Piper is overkill. If you are comparing them because leads wait for hours before anyone assigns them, test Chili Piper in a demo with your own form tool first.

Who each is for

Cal.com logo

Choose Cal.com if…

Pick Cal.com if you want scheduling you can shape, embed and route, or you need control over where the data lives. It is open source with a documented self-hosting route, including Docker. Round-robin and attribute-based routing match a lead to the right person.

The app store lists HubSpot, Salesforce, Close, Attio and Zoho CRM, plus Zapier, Make and n8n, and there is an official MCP server for AI tools.

Self-hosting is a job. If nobody wants to run servers, updates and backups, use the hosted version.

Choose Chili Piper if…

Pick Chili Piper if you run an inbound sales motion for B2B demos. It routes form submissions and chat visitors to the right rep with rules or round-robin, and books the meeting before the visitor leaves the page. It also supports handoff from SDR to AE.

It works with Salesforce and HubSpot, and the vendor lists ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2. There is a REST API, a JavaScript API, webhooks and an official MCP server.

Plans include a set number of seats and AI credits, and all billing is annual. Check what is available now, because one plan is listed as coming soon.
