Instant online onboarding

The business can apply and be verified entirely online, without paper forms or visiting a branch, and can start using the account quickly afterwards.

What it is

Instant online onboarding means opening the account through a website or app. You upload your company details and identity documents, usually with a photo or video check, and the provider verifies them without a meeting or posted forms. How fast it is differs by provider and by company type, so instant often means minutes to days. GoDutch and Revolut Pro are listed as having it.

Why it matters

Traditional business accounts can take weeks to open, which delays invoicing, hiring and paying suppliers. Fast onboarding matters for new companies and for businesses that need a second account quickly. It matters less when you already have a bank and are not planning to switch, or when your company structure is complicated and needs manual review anyway.

What to check

  • Ask how long approval takes for a company like yours, including one with several owners or a foreign owner.
  • Find out which documents are needed, and whether a director must be present.
  • Check whether you can use the account fully on the first day, or only with limits.
  • Ask what happens if the automated check fails, and whether a person looks at the case.
