Customer request linking

What it is
This feature connects what customers say to what the team is building. A request might arrive from a support conversation, a sales call or a feedback form, and it is attached to the relevant work item. Over time a feature idea shows how many customers asked for it and who they are. Linear is one tool that offers this.
Why it matters
Without a link, customer requests sit in inboxes and chat threads while the roadmap is decided from memory or from whoever shouts loudest. Linking gives the team evidence when ordering priorities and lets you tell a customer when the thing they asked for ships. You need it when feedback arrives from several places and a product team has to weigh it. If you only have a handful of customers and talk to all of them directly, a simple list may do.
What to check
- Ask where requests can come from, such as email, chat, support tools or forms, and whether the link is automatic.
- Check whether several requests can be attached to one work item and counted.
- Test whether you can see which customers asked and filter by customer or segment.
- Find out whether the requester can be told when the work is finished.
